Horses through ice, Ljungbyhed
Late in the evening on the 6th of January, 2026, Söderåsen Emergency Services receive a call about horses that have fallen through the ice in Ljungbyhed. In a lake, 150 meters from the shore, two horses are struggling to keep their heads above water in a hole in the ice. By cutting a channel through the ice with chainsaws, the Emergency Services were able to guide the horses back onto solid ground. The combination of surface rescue suits and chainsaws calls for certain safety requirements.
